FLOODS FUND RAISING

When floods hit our North Coast of NSW … our members decided to do something tangible to help.

In true Mens Shed style (shoulder to shoulder) our members rallied and collected donations from our members.

At our Board meeting it was decided that the PDMSInc would match the funds raised by members … a unanimous decision ….. and to donate directly to the Lismore City Lions Activity Account

HERE’s what we achieved …..

The flood relief donations are in and, as Treasurer, I now have to delve into the Shed’s savings and match, dollar for dollar, the donations.  Here’s a picture of me tallying the amount to be taken from the Shed’s savings.”

our Treasurer …. being careful

All kidding aside, the total collected from the members was $2,000.  With the Shed’s matching the dollar amount, we will be collectively donating $4,000.

Considering our membership of 60 or so blokes, that’s a wonderful effort.  And the membership ought to feel proud of that achievement.

Well done all PDMSInc shedders ….

Electric Vehicle Tutorial

EV Tutorial

One of members is a technical guru. He gave a brilliant presentation on the ins and outs and reasons for electric vehicles.

You can access the presentation HERE …..

We do this regularly on different topics including computing. smartphones and the like.

Community Service

Our shed has an on going arrangement with FLINTWOOD disability services, to provide articles for their clients to finish with painting / decorations. Above is one of the latest deliveries.

Flintwood were so happy to receive a large range of these for their clients.

It’s all part of our community service involvement, and we can provide these articles for no cost to Flintwood.

The articles are all made from re-purposed timber that the shed gets donated. Several of our members have become very skilled in using our CNC machine to create these products.
